| Mass | The amount of matter in a solid, liquid, gas |
| Volume | the amount of space an object takes up |
| Solid | A substance that has a definite shape and volume |
| Density | The mass of an object divided by its volume |
| Liquid | A substance that has a definite volume but no definite shape |
| Mixture | Different materials placed together, but each material keeps its own properties |
| Gas | A substance without a definite volume or shape |
| Melting Point | The temperature at which a substance changes from a solid to a liquid |
| Solution | A mixture in which substances are spread out evenly and will not settle |
| Boiling Point | The temperature at which a substances changes from a liquid to a gas |
| Solubility | Ability of one substance to dissolve in another |
| Attract | To Pull Toward |
| Repel | To Push away |
| Matter | anything that has mass and takes up space |

| Insoluable | A substance that will not dissolve in a liquid |
| Condensation | The change from a gas to a liquid as a result of cooling |
| Physical Property | A characteristic of a substance that can be measured or observed without changing the substance |
