Analyze | to study (something) closely and carefully |
Claim | a statement based on evidence and observation |
Conceptual Model | a representation of a system, made up of concepts which are used to help people know understand a subject |
Control Group | the group in an experiment or study that does not receive treatment by the researchers, and is used for comparison for other groups in the experiment |
Correlation | a mutual relationship or connection between two or more things. |
Data | individual facts, statistics, or items of information gathered from observations |
Decision Making Model | a series of steps that helps decision makers decide how they can maximize the quality of their outcomes. |
Distribution | The spread of a data-point, object, etc., over an area |
Evidence | observations, facts, or information indicating whether a belief or statement is true or valid. |
Experiment | a scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact. |
Experimental Group | group of subjects who are exposed to the variable under an experiment. |
Infer | decide or conclude information from evidence and reasoning. |
Mathematical Model | a model, based on mathematics, used to represent an experiment or something in the world |
Mean | the average value of a set of numbers |
Measure | obtain the size, amount, or degree of something by using an instrument |
Model | a representation (physical, online, etc.) of a larger system, structure, etc. |
Observe | to recognize and note a fact or occurrence in an experiment, often involving measurements with instruments |
Predict/Hypothesis | an educated guess, used as a starting point for further investigation. |
Probability | the likelihood of something happening |
Question | what you would want to answer in an experiment |
Reasoning | thinking of an idea or concept in a logical way |
Risk | probability of something bad happening |
Sample | a part of a larger population, what an experiment is performed on |
Statistics | the science of collecting and analyzing numerical data. |
Variable | a quantity that may change within the context of an experiment |
Value | the importance, worth, or number that an object is regarded to have |
