ellipse an elongated circle or oval shape
phases of the moon the progression of changes in the moon's appearance during the month
new moon a moon that is completely dark because it'ls unlit side is facing Earth
full moon the phase of the moon in which we see the entire moon lighted, and it appears bright and round
lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon when Earth is directly between the moon and the sun
solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between the sun and the earth and casts a shadow over part of the Earth
