Landforms
| Term | Definition |

| canyons | deep valleys with steep sides |
| caves | underground, hollow areas created by weathering |
| Delta | low plains that form where rivers enter oceans |
| dune | sand hills or sand ridges formed by wind, usually located in deserts or near lakes and oceans |
| floodplain | nearly flat plain along the paths of streams or rivers that are naturally subject to flooding |
| glacial grooves | grooves or markings left in rock from glaciers as they move |
| glacier | huge masses of ice formed from snow falling and accumulating over time |
| hill | natural elevations of the Earth's surface that are smaller than mountains |
| island | areas of land surrounded by water |
| Landform | a natural feature of the earth's surface. |
| Moraines | a mass of rocks and sediment carried down and deposited by a glacier |
| mountains | are natural elevations of the Earth's surface. They are the tallest of Earth's landforms |
| sinkhole | when land above weathered rock sinks into holes in the ground |
| spring | natural bodies of running water flowing on or under the Earth |
| topographic map | a map that shows the surface features of Earth and elevation |
| valley | long, narrow regions of low land between mountains or hills |
| volcano | openings, or vents, in the Earth's surface through which hot ash, steam, gases and molten rock or lava escape from deep within Earth. |
