Vocabulary for Middle School on Playwrighting
| Term | Definition |

| Play | A story of dialogue, when someone wants something so bad, they would do anything to get it. |
| Dialogue | When two or more people have a conversation |
| Monologue | When one person speaks |
| Conflict | The thing that gets in the way of what a character want. |
| Character | They have emotional reactions to what’s happening, pursue a want, deal with obstacles in the way of that want (the conflict), and either succeed (most comedies) or fail (most tragedies) in getting their want |
| Theatricality | The stage-ability of your play. |
| Limited Stage-ability | How it fits your physical stage |
| Limitless Stage-ability | Anything can happen if we use our imagination |
| Playwright | The person who writes the play |
| Playwrighting | The art of writing a play |
