Food Chain/Food Web

Food Chain Shows how each living thing gets food, and how nutrients and energy are passed from creature to creature.
Food Web Consists of all the food chains interlocking in a single ecosystem.
Producer Organisms that energy from the sun and make their own food.
Consumer Organisms that get energy by eating other organisms.
Decomposer Organisms that break down dead plants and animals and give nutrients back to the soil.
Ecosystem a community of living organisms in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment, interacting as a system.
Herbivore Organisms that eat plants only.
Carnivore Organisms that only eat other animals.
Omnivore Organisms that eat both plants and animals.
Predator An animal that eats other animals
Prey An animal hunted for food.
Transfer To move from one to another.
Organism Any living thing.
