Motions between the Earth, Moon, and Sun
| Term | Definition |

| Mass | The amount of matter or substance that makes up an object |
| Gravity | The force that attracts objects towards each othe |
| Orbit | The path an object follows as it moves around another object |
| Revolution | The motion of one object around another object - The Earth revolves around the sun every 365.24 days |
| Earth's Rotation | A spinning motion - Earth takes 24 hours to spin once, which equals one day |
| Rotation Axis | The line on which an object rotates |
| Solstice | A day when the sun is at its highest or lowest point in the sky |
| Equinox | When night and day are equal lengths |
