| Decomposer | Organisms that break down dead organisms |
| Herbivore | A consumer that eats only plants |
| Carnivore | A consumer that eats other animals for food |
| Omnivore | A consumer that eats both plants and animals for food |
| Scavenger | An animal that feeds on the remains of dead animals or garbage |
| Parasite | Organisms that feed on cells, tissues, or fluids of another living organism |
| Host | An organism that supports an organism that is invasive and takes its resources |
| Predator | An animal that hunts catches, and eats another animal |
| Prey | An organism that is killed and eaten by another organism |
