What is a reflex? A fast automatic response which acts to protect the body from harm
Hormones only affect their target tissues. Explain why Hormones are specific to the receptors on their target tissue so will not bind to the shape of other receptors.
Describe a reflex arc beginning with a stimulus at a receptor Receptor --> Sensory neuron --> Inter neuron --> Motor neuron ---> Effector
How do messages cross the synapse Chemical transmitter are released from one neuron and bind to receptors on another neuron.
What is a hormone? A chemical signal released from endocrine glands that travels in the blood to target tissues
Where are hormones secreted from? Endocrine glands
Name the hormone released when blood glucose levels are high Insulin
Name the hormone released when blood glucose levels are low Glucagon
Name the organs which senses blood glucose levels Pancreas
Name the target organ of both Insulin and Glucagon Liver
