| Environment | The living and non‐living things around an organism. |
| Vegetation | Plant life in an ecosystem. |
| Increase | To become greater in number, size, strength, or quality. |
| Population | All the living things belonging to a group who live in the same area. |
| Decrease | To lessen in number, size, strength, or quality. |
| Grazers | Animals that continuously feed on growing grasses (such as cattle or sheep). |
| Carrying Capacity | Size of population that an environment can support and feed. |
| Impact | Direct change or effect. |
| Food Web | Multiple food chains connected to show the path of food energy in an ecosystem. |
| Producer (Plant) | Uses sunlight to make its own food for energy. |
| Decomposer | Breaks down dead organisms, waste, and non‐ living materials for energy. |
| Food Chain | Straight path of food energy from one organism to another in an ecosystem. |
| Omnivore | Animal that gets energy by eating BOTH plants and animals. |
| Herbivore | Animal that gets energy by eating ONLY plants. |
| Carnivore | An animal that gets energy by eating ONLY other animals. |
