• Biotic is all the living parts of an ecosystem.
• Aquatic means living in water.
• Terrestrial means living or growing on land.
• Consumers are animals that eat plants or other plant eating animals.
• Decomposers are organisms that break down dead plants or animals and returns nutrients to the soil for the energy cycle to begin again.
• Plant life is called flora.
• Photosynthesis is the food-making process in green plants that uses sunlight.
• A producer is any plant or algae that provides oxygen and food that animals need.
• A scavenger is an animal that feeds on the remains of dead animals.
• A carnivore is an animal that eats other animals.
• A herbivore is an animal that only eats plants.
• An omnivore is an animal that eats both plants and animals.
