| Term | Definition |

| Koppen Climate Classification System | Classification system for climates, divided into five types, based on the mean monthly values of temperature and precipitation and types of vegetation. |
| Temperate Climate | A type of climate without extreme changes between seasons precipitation and temperature wise. |
| Tropical Climate | A non-arid climate with average temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius or above. Temperature and sunlight is constant year-round. |
| Polar Climate | A type of climate with extremely cold winters and cool summers. Average temperature is usually 10 degrees Celsius or below. |
| Dry Climate | Type of climate with low and unpredictable precipitation. |
| Greenhouse Gases | Atmospheric gases that causes natural heating of the Earth's surface. |
| Climate Change | A change in global/regional climate patterns usually due to the burning of fossil fuels. |
| Global Warming | A long-term rise in Earth's average surface temperatures. |
| Mitigation | Is the act of reducing or preventing the severity of something. |
