Stress lowers the effectiveness of the immune system
Transference occurs when pt reflects feelings of someone else on you because you remind them of someone
Countertransference occurs when HCP reflects feelings towards someone else on the pt because they remind them of someone else

Congruence words and actions match
Empathy ability to perceive the meanings and feelings of the pt to communicate that understanding to the pt
