| climate | the general weather over a long time. |
| weather | the day to day conditions of our atmosphere that can change in an instant |
| atmosphere | the gasses surrounding the Earth |
| average | the ordinary standard or norm |
| humidity | the amount of moisture in the air |
| precipitation | rain, snow, sleet, hail or fog |
| accumulation | the gradual gathering of rain or snow |
| weather map | a map that displays with symbols to help forecast the weather |
| ground water | water held underground in the soil or in pores and crevices of rock |
| cycle | an interval of time during which a sequence of recurring successions of events take place |
| solar energy | energy from the sun |
| water cycle | the cycles of processes by which water circulates between the Earth's ocean , atmosphere and land involving precipitation, drainage in streams and river and returns back to atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration |
| transpiration | the process when a plant absorbs water through the roots and then gives off water vapor through the pores of the leaves |
| runoff | the draining away of water carried from the surface |
