Lifting and Moving Patients

TermDefinition
Emergency Move When scene is hazardous, care of life-threatening conditions requires re-positioning, you must reach other patients
Urgent Move The required treatment can be performed only if the patient is moved, factors at scene cause patient decline
Types of Emergency Moves SINGLE: Clothes, shoulder, firefighter, incline, foot, blanket TWO: two rescuer assist, and firefighter carry with assist
Non-Urgent Move No immediate threat to life, patient moved when ready for transportation
Types of Backboards Spine Board, stair chair, power stretcher, portable, basket. flexible
