TermDefinition
Condensation Physical change from a gas to a liquid.
Freshwater Found in lakes, rivers, and streams, this water does NOT contain salt.
Interact To have an effect on another.
Saltwater Water found in the oceans that contains about 3‐ 4% salt (also found in some lakes).
Evaporation Physical change from a liquid to a gas.
Waves Moving water ridges on the surface of the ocean caused by wind.
Water Cycle Cycle in which water evaporates into the air, condenses into clouds, then precipitates down to Earth’s surface and collects in bodies of water.
Ocean One of 5 large bodies of salt water covering about 75% of the Earth.
Precipitation Snow, rain, sleet, or hail that falls to Earth’s surface from clouds in the sky.
Cycle Series of events that are repeated in the same order.
Climate Average weather conditions in a region over a long period of time.
Weather Condition of the air outdoors, such as temperature, cloud cover, wind speed and precipitation.
Seasons Weather patterns during certain parts of the year, caused by Earth’s tilt in relation to the Sun.
Humidity The amount of water vapor in the air.
