Interphase First stage of the cell cycle.
Replication Cell makes exact copy of DNA.
Heredity The passing of physical characteristics.
Trait Each specific characteristics.
Genetics The scientific study of heredity.
Fertilization Egg and sperm join together.
Purebred Organisms in the offspring of many generations that have the same form of a trait.
Gene The factors that control a trait.
Allele Different forms of gene.
Dominant Allele The trait that always shows up in the organism when the allele is present.
Recessive Allele Hidden allele when dominant is present.
Hybrid Organisms with two different alleles.
Probability The chance or likely of something happening.
Punnet Square Chart the shows the ways all alleles combine.
Phenotype Two terms that genetics use.
Genotype Two terms that genetics use.
Homozygous Two identical alleles.
Heterozygous Two different alleles.
Incomplete Dominant One allele is only partly there.
Condominance Both alleles in a gene are expressed equally.
Multiple Alleles Three or more possible alleles that determine traits.
Polygenic Inheritance More than one gene effects the trait.
Meiosis The number of chromosomes are reduced by half as sex cells form.
Steps of Meiosis 1 Interphase , Prophase , Metaphase , Anaphase , Telophase , Cell divides , forms two daughter cells.
Steps of Meiosis 2 Two daughter cells divide forming two more cells.
