| Noun | person, place. thing or idea |
| proper noun | a specific person place thing or idea |
| ante | latin root that means before |
| antecedent | noun that comes before the pronoun |
| point of view | the position of the speaker in relation to what is being writen or spoken |
| first person pronoun | the speaker is part of the story ( I, we, me, us, our, ourselves) |
| second person pronoun | the speaker is speaking to someone directly ( you, your, yours, yourself, yourselves,) |
| third person pronoun | you are speaking about others and not part of the story ( he she they their its his her himself herself they them hers theirs themselves |

| plural | more than one |
| subjective case pronoun | pronouns that can be subjects of the sentences and "doers'' of action |
| objective case pronoun | pronouns that can be objects of the sentences and "recevers'' of "action'' |
