| Herbivore | Animals that eat mainly plants |
| Species | A group of organisms of the same kind that can produce offspring like themselves |
| Extinct | A plant or animal species that is no longer alive |
| Niche | The role or job an organism plays within its environment |
| Endangered | A plant of animal that is found in such small numbers that it is almost extinct |
| Habitat | The environment where an organism lives |
| Population | All of the same type of species living in the same environment |
| Carnivore | Animals that eat mainly meat |
| Community | All of the populations living together in the same environment |
| Competition | Organisms fight against another species to reach a goal, usually to survive or reproduce |
| Nocturnal | Active at night and sleeps in the day |
| Camouflage | To blend in to one's surroundings |
| Vegetation | All the plant life in an ecosystem |
| Migration | The seasonal movement of animals from one place to another |
| Hibernation | An animals body processes slowing down for survival in extreme conditions |
| Mimicry | To pretend to be or look like another organism for protection or to prey on other organisms |
| Interdependence | The living things depending on each other for survival |
| Offspring | New organisms that come from a parent organism |
| Life Cycle | The stages of growth and development that an organism goes through during its lifetime |
