What is the periodic table? A table of all the known elements
What is an element A substance made up of only one type of atom
Are all atoms the same size? No

What is a compound? A substance made up of more than one element, chemically joined OR a substance made up of more than one different types of atom, chemically joined.
Can you separate the elements in a compound? Yes

What word to be use to describe a substance that disappears in a liquid? Soluble
What word do we use to describe a substance that does NOT disappear in a liquid? Insoluble
What is the word for the solid that you dissolve in a liquid? Solute
What is the name for the liquid that you are using to dissolve the solute? Solvent
What is the name for a liquid formed when a solute dissolves in a solvent? A solution
What is the name for a solution that will not allow any more solute to dissolve in it? Saturated
