Galileo Galilei Italian astronomer and mathematician who was the first to use a telescope to study the stars, proved previous theories on Sun centered universe correct
Nicholas Copernicus He thought that the sun was the center & the plants went around the sun in circles
Claudias Ptolemy Ancient Greek Astronomer who could accurately predict the motion of the planets
Edwin Hubble person whom Hubble telescope is named after. he first classified galaxies by shape.
Johanes Kepler said that the planets orbit in ellipses rather than perfect cirlces
Albert Einstien Suggested the laws of physics were the same in the entire universe and believed in a finite universe
red shift a star moving away from earth that appears red
blue shift Stars moving towards the Earth appears blue
gravity is based on distance and mass
the current scientific theory suggests that the universe is expanding

Steady State Theory the universe has always existed and always will, in the state it is in now
Main difference between Steady State Theory and Big Bang Theory Big Bang says the universe began and will end, Steady State says the universe always has and always will exist
