QuestionAnswer
Cell Membrane It surrounds the cell and protects it and regulates what enters and leaves the cell ¨Gate Keeper¨
Nucleus Contains DNA/genetic information/it´s near the center of the cell/it is called the ¨Brain¨
Mitochondria Produces/releases energy ¨Powerhouse¨ and it's called Cellular Respiration
Cell Wall On the outside of the plant cells only, provides structure, and support in the category of Plant Cell
Chloroplasts Produces food through photosynthesis and it´s in the category of Plant Cells
Chlorophyll Green pigment that makes the plant have color
Exocytosis Vacuole releasing its contents or waste particles
Diffusion Movement of gases from high to low concentration
Equilibrium Having an equal number of a molecule on both sides of the cell membrane
Dynamic Equilibruim Molecules are continuing to move more in and out of a cell
Semi-Permeable Only allows small molecules to pass freely
Osmosis Movement of water across cell membrane
Endocytosis To take in or engulf large food particles and form a vacuole
Active Transport Requires energy, goes from low to high, doesn't reach equilibrium, and its large molecules
Passive Transport Doesn't require energy, goes high to low, reaches equilibrium, and its small molecules
Vacuole Holds things like food
Eukaryotic Has a nucleus (Plants)
Prokaryotic Doesn´t have a nucleus (Bactria)
Aerobic cellular respiration Process that uses oxygen to break down food to make energy
Reactant A substance that takes part in a change during a reaction (C6 H12 O6)
Product A thing or person that is the result of an action or process (H2O)
Glucose A simple sugar which is an important energy source in living organisms and is a part of many carbohydrates (Syrup)
Photosynthesis Plants use water and carbon dioxide to create their food

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
