High Court (puisne) Judge Qualified as a barrister or solicitor advocate with 7 years experience or Circuit Judge for 2 years. Only 3 solicitors since 1993
Circuit Judge Qualified as a barrister or solicitor advocate with 7 years experience or an existing Recorder, District or Tribunal Judge. Usually apppointed Recorder first. 18% are solicitors
Recorder Part time. Qualified as a barrister or solicitor advocate with 7 years experience. Recorder in training for 2-3 years. 5 year appointment.
District Judge Qualified as a barrister or solicitor advocate with 5 years experience. Experience as Deputy District Judge. High % solicitors
