Ecosystem Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Ecosystem A system containing all biotic and abiotic factors.
Succession A change in an ecosystem overtime.
Primary Succession A slow process that starts with almost no living things.
Secondary Succession Started by an event and hurts a ecosystem. A natural disaster.
Biodiversity A number and variety of different species of plants and animals in an area.
Natural Resources materials or substances such as minerals, forests, water, and fertile land that occur in nature.
Coral Reefs A ridge of rock in the sea formed by the growth and deposit of coral.
