| Mixture | Two or more substances that are combined that can be easily separated because they keep their physical properties |
| Solution | A type of mixture in which one substance dissolves in another and CANNOT be easily separated because their physical properties change |
| Dissolve | To become so small you can no longer see it but it is still there |
| Weight | The measurement of the pull of gravity on an object |
| Strainer | Separates bigger objects from smaller ones |
| Procedure | Steps followed during an investigation |
| Classify | To put into groups |
| Density | The amount of molecules in matter that allow something to sink or float |
| Reflection | The bouncing back of light waves off of a surface |
| Refraction | The bending of light waves as they pass from one medium into another |
| Prism | A glass or transparent object that bends light and separates white light into the spectrum of colors |
| Medium | A substance or material that makes it possible for the transfer of energy from one location to another |
| Transmit | To pass on to another |
| Series Circuit | A circuit in which the electrons have only one path to take. If one light is removed, they all go out. |
| Parallel Circuit | A circuit in which the electrons have multiple paths to take. If one light is removed the others will stay on. |
