cytoskeleton microscopic fibers that give the cell structure
ribosome responsible for making proteins
prokaryote single-celled organism with no nucleus or organelles.
cell wall rigid structure that surrounds the cell membrane and provides support. Found in plant cells and prokaryotes such as bacteria.
flagellum Long structure that allows a cell to move.
eukaryote organism made up of cells that have a nucleus and membrane bound organelles.
Nucleus internal compartment that houses DNA
organelles specialized cellular structures that perform specific functions
cilia short hair-like projections that protrude from the cells surface.
endoplasmic reticulum responsible for moving proteins from one area of the cell to another.
vesicle small membrane bound sac that transports substances
golgi apparatus flattened, membrane bound sacs that package, distribute, and modify proteins
