What is a disease? Anything that causes your body to stop working properly
What are bacteria? Microscopic, unicellular organisms
Bacteria that cause diseases are known as? Pathogens
What are infectious diseases? Diseases that can be spread
Infectious diseases that are easiest to spread are described as? Contagious
What are bacterial infections treated with? Antibiotics
How many natural lines of defence does your body have? Three
What are vaccines? Chemicals that cause your body to react as if it had met a pathogen
How are vaccines created? By taking a small amount of the poison and making it inactive, or by using weakened or dead bacteria.
What is a symptom? An indicator of a particular disease.
Can some diseases be prevented by practising good hygiene? Yes
