TermDefinition
Current The direction the electricity is moving
Electricity Source Electricity from a battery, solar panel, fuel cell, fossil fuels, or generator
Path A wire that a current flows through
Fuse A safety device consisting of a strip of wire that melts and breaks an electric circuit if the current exceeds safe travel.
Switch Turns a circuit off and on
Series Circuit A circuit in which the electrons have only one path to take. If one light goes out or is removed, they will all go out.
Parallel Circuit A circuit in which the electrons have many paths to take. If one light goes out or is removed, the others will stay on.
Transmit To pass on to another
Medium A substance or material that makes it possible for the transfer of energy from one location to another
Generator A device that uses magnets to change mechanical energy into electricity
Force A push or a pull
Friction The force in which two objects rub against each other and it causes them to heat up or slow down
