| Sphere | the shaped like a ball, with all points on the surface at an equal distance from the center |
| geosphere | the Earth's entire solid body |
| Gravity | the force that every object exerts on all other objects because of their masses. |
| Density | the amount of mass in a material per unit volume. |
| Crust | The brittle, rocky outer layer of Earth. |
| mantle | the thick middle layer in the solid part of Earth. |
| lithosphere | grouped crust and the upper most mantle into a rigid layer. |
| asthenosphere | plastic layer (rocks that flow in this way) within the mantle. |
| core | the dense metallic center of Earth. |
| magnetosphere | the outer part of the magnetic field that interacts with these particles. |
| landform | topographic features formed by processes that shape Earth's surface. |
| plains | landforms with low relief and low elevation. |
| plateaus | areas with low relief and high elevation. |
| mountains | landforms with high relief and high elevation. |
