| Chronic HTN | before pregnancy, before 20th weeks of pregnancy, persistant after 6th week of postpartum |
| PIH | an increase in systolic of 30 or more and/or an increase of 15 or more in diastolic on at least 2 occasions 6 hrs apart |
| Absence of baseling B/P | 140/90 is accepted as HTN |
| Cure for PIH | birth is only cure- disappears after first menstrual period |
| Pre-eclampsia | *Hypertension *Protein Uria 1+ (progressive, multisystem disease) |
