The Sun

Different layers of the sun

TermDefinition
Photosphere the layer of the sun that we can observe light from
Chromosphere The middle layer of the sun
Core the center of the sun
Corona The sun’s outer atmosphere in which extends millions of kilometers into space.
Radiation The process by which Energy is transferred from the sun’s core through the radiative zone.
Convection The process by which Energy is transferred from the top of the radiative zone through the convective zone to the photosphere .
