What does a new moon look like? A new moon is completely dark. There is no light reflecting for us to see
What happens during a solar eclipse? The moon falls directly in front of the sun and casts a shadow on the Earth.
What happens during a lunar eclipse? The Earth casts a shadow on the moon. The moon refracts or bends the suns light making it appear as a reddish orange to us in the sky.
