The rock Cycle Vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
Weathering The breaking down of Earth's surface into pieces.
Mineral A solid substance that occurs naturally in rocks or in the ground.
Humus The remains of decayed plants and animals.
Erosion The process of moving sediment to other places.
Rock cycle The changing of rocks over time.
Horizon A layer of soil.
Bedrock The bottom layer of soil.
Igneous The type of rock that forms when melted rock cools and hardens.
