What is Dosha? the patient's basic condition; understanding dosha is central to Ayurvendic medicine.
Whole (or alternative) medical systems are similar to the Western, allopathic model in that they are complete systems of theory and practice. Tey consist of a set of belief about the origin of diseases, ways to promote health, and types of treatment.
Mind-body medicine uses a variety of techniques designed to enhance the mind's ability to affect bodily function and symptoms.
Energy medicine involves the use of energy fields, such as magnetic fields or biofileds (energy fields that some believe surround and penetrate the human body).
Manipulative and body-based practices work with the structures and systems of the body, including bones and joints, soft tissues, and circulatory and lymphatic systems.
Traditional Chiniese Medicine (TCM) is similar in two ways: 1)Healing system of thousands of years old. 2)its principle is that the interaction of people with their environment is most significant in creating health.
What is the most central conecpt of TCM? It is represents an invisible flow of energy that circulates through plants, animals, and people as well as the earth and sky. Qi or chi
opposites and complimentary, and health is present when they are in balance in a person and his or her total environment. Yin or Yang energy. (Qi is further views as either of this two)
Holism a theory and philosophy that focuses on connections and interreactions between parts of the whole.
