Procedure #7

CNA Procedure: Falling or Fainting

Step NumberStep
Step 1 Call for nurse and stay with resident.
Step 2 Check if resident if breathing.
Step 3 Do not move resident. Leave in same position until the nurse examines the resident.
Step 4 Talk to resident in calm and supportive manner.
Step 5 Apply direct pressure to any bleeding area with a clean piece of linen.
Step 6 Take pulse and respiration.
Step 7 Assist nurse as directed. Check resident frequently according to facility policy and procedures. Assist in documentation.
