Procedure #5

CNA Procedure: Gown (PPE)

Step NumberStep
Step 1 Wash your hands.
Step 2 Open gown and hold out in front of you. Let the clean gown unfold without touching any surface.
Step 3 Slip your hands and arms through the sleeves and pull the gown on.
Step 4 Tie neck ties in a bow.
Step 5 Overlap back of the gown and tie waist ties.
Step 6 Put on gloves; extend to cover wrist of gown.
Step 7 Perform procedure.
Step 8 Remove gloves.
Step 9 Untie the neck, the waist ties.
Step 10 Pull away from neck and shoulders, touching inside of gown only.
Step 11 Fold gown with clean side out and place in laundry or discard if disposable.
Step 12 Wash your hands.
