| Groove | A ditchlike indentation that contains a tendon or blood vessel. |
| Condyle | Rounded knuckle-like projections |
| Facet | Flat or very shallow articular surface (small) |
| Head | Rounded articular projection, beyond a narrow, necklike portion of bone, |
| Crest | A narrow, sharp ridge-like projection |
| Epicondyle | A projection on top of a condyle |
| Line | Less Prominent ridge |
| Spine | Long, thin projection |
| Trochanter | Very large prominence for muscle attachment |
| Tubercle | Small, rounded projection |
| Tuberosity | Large, rounded projection |
| Suture | An interlocking line of union between two bones |
