Fossa | A depression, or hollow surface |
Groove | A ditchlike indentation that contains a tendon or blood vessel. |
Condyle | Rounded knuckle-like projections |
Facet | Flat or very shallow articular surface (small) |
Head | Rounded articular projection, beyond a narrow, necklike portion of bone, |
Crest | A narrow, sharp ridge-like projection |
Epicondyle | A projection on top of a condyle |
Line | Less Prominent ridge |
Spine | Long, thin projection |
Trochanter | Very large prominence for muscle attachment |
Tubercle | Small, rounded projection |
Tuberosity | Large, rounded projection |
Suture | An interlocking line of union between two bones |
