| Term | Definition |

| Hygrometer | Measures humidity |
| Thermometer | Measures air temperature in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit. |
| Barometer | Measures air pressure. |
| Rain gauge | Collects water and shows the amount of rainfall. |
| Wind Vane | Points in the direction from which the wind is blowing. |
| Anemometer | Measures wind speed. The faster the wind blows the faster the cups spin. |
| Air pressure | Force of air pushing on an area. |
| Precipitation | Any form of water that falls from clouds. |
| Humidity | How much moisture is in the air. |
| Temperature | Describes how hot or cold something is. |
| Troposphere | Layer closest to the Earth's surface. This is where weather happens. |
| Atmosphere | Blanket of air surrounding the Earth. |
| Earth's atmosphere is made out of what gasses? | Oxygen, nitrogen and some other gases. |
| Stratosphere | The layer above the troposphere but under the mesophere. |
| Mesophere | Is the third layer from the earth. It is the layer above the stratosphere and under the thermosphere. |
| Thermosphere | The fourth layer from the earth. It is the last layer of the atmosphere. |
