Activity 1.3 How Big Was That Fish

| Dial Caliper | A precision measuring device used to measure linear dimensions, thickness, or diameter. |
| Accuracy | The extent to which a given measurement agrees with the standard value for that measurement. |
| Precision | The degree to which the correctness of a quantity is expressed. |
| Dimension | Measurement of height, width, and depth. |
| Surface Area | The total area of the surface of a three-dimensional object. |
| Volume | The amount of space, measured in cubic units, that an object or substance fills. |
| Hatch Mark | (also called a tick mark) A form of math notation or a mark to indicate a unit of measurement. |
| Units | A specified amount of something measured. Units allow us to use standard measurements. |
| Area | The space of a two-dimensional surface or region measured in squared units. |
| Two-Dimensional | Having the dimensions of length and width. |
