Dispose To throw away or get rid of
Prevent To keep something from happening
Independent Variable The variable you change in an experiment
Dependent Variable The variable you measure in an experiment
Controlled Variables Any variable that stays the same in the experiment
Transfer To move from one place to another
Mass How much matter is in something. Measured in grams with a triple beam balance or pan scale.
Volume How much space something takes up. Measured in liters or milliliters with a graduated cylinder.
Observation Noticing something about the world around you.
Inference Using clues to come to a conclusion
Classify To put into groups
Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space
Spring Scale Can measure the weight or mass of an object. Can also measure the force used on an object.
Graduated Cylinder Used to measure volume
Triple Beam Balance Measures the mass of an object
