Motion
| Term | Definition |

| Position | A place or location. |
| Displacement | A vector measurement of how far an object is from its original starting point. |
| Distance | The length or numerical value of a straight line or curve. |
| Speed | The rate of change in position. |
| Constant speed | The rate of change in position that does not vary. |
| Time | A number of years, days, or minutes. |
| Average speed | The total distance traveled divided by the total time taken to travel that distance. |
| Instantaneous speed | The rate of change of motion that is present or occurring at a specific instant. |
| Acceleration | A change in speed and/or position. |
| Velocity | Speed + Direction |
| Motion | The change in position relative to a reference point. |
