Energy Changes in Chemical Reactions

TermDefinition
Heat Pack Created with chemicals that produce an exothermic reaction.
Cold Pack Created with chemicals that produce an endothermic reaction.
Exothermic Reaction A chemical reaction accompanied by the absorption of heat causing the temperature to increase.
Endothermic Reaction A chemical reaction accompanied by the absorption of heat causing the temperature to decrease.
Catalyst A substance that changes and increases the rate of a reaction without being used up in the process.
Delta symbol A symbol used to represent the change of heat or energy.
