Physical Properties

TermDefinition
Conductor A material that allows heat or energy to pass through.
Insulator A material that does not allow heat or energy to pass through.
Luster An object that has a shiny surface.
Malleable The ability of a substance to be pounded into a thin sheet.
Mass Anything that has matter and takes up space.
Volume The amount of space an object takes up.
Metal An element that is usually a solid, shiny conductor.
Non Metal An element that is usually not shiny, easy to break apart, and does not conduct heat or electricity.
Metalloid An element that has properties of metals and non metals. (such as the element Boron)
