How do rockets work? Rockets operate by Newton’s Third Law. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. (action force) Gases in the combustion chamber push exhaust fumes downward.
How do rockets work? (reaction force) Gas at the top of the combustion chamber push the rocket upward. Thrust is the force that overcomes drag, gravity or resistance. Thrust is the force that accelerates a rocket.
What is LEO? If a satellite is in the LEO orbit, they move very swiftly close to Earth and can orbit the entire Earth in 90 minutes The thin atmosphere of Low Earth Orbit is good for taking pictures; ex. weather, etc.

What is GEO? In GEO, it is much slower and further away from Earth. The orbit period is the same as Earth’s rotation period. GEO satellites stay permanently fixed in the same position in the sky. Examples are DirecTV & DISH Network as well as weather satellites.
What are satellites? Where are they Located? Satellites orbit Earth in either LEO or GEO LEO means Low Earth Orbit and GEO means Geosynchronous Orbit .
What is Probes? Probes go to other planets and gather informations. They can stay in space until they die out, but the longest probe still in space is 30+ years old.
