Is gravity a force? Gravity is a force because a force is a push or a pull
Gravity Is a force that is either a push or a pull
Magnet Can attract or repel items
Mass Is the amount of matter in an object
Negative and Positive When two of the same type are put together they repel or push away Negative = North Positive = South
Repel To Push back or away by a force
Weight A measure of the amount of gravity pulling on an object and is measured in pounds
What are the characteristics of electromagnetism? The strength of an electromagnet can easily be changed by changing the amount of electric current that flows through it
How are mass and weight different? Mass is the actual amount of material contained in a body and it always stays the same Weight is the force exerted by the gravity on that object and it can be different
What determines how much gravity an object has? Mass and Distance determine how much gravity an object has.
How do positive and negative objects interact? When two of the same types are put together, they repel or push away. When two opposites are put together, they attract.
How is gravity affected by distance? Mass: As mass Increases, gravity increases The more mass an object has, the more gravity that acts on that object
How is gravity affected by mass? Distance: As distance increase, gravity decreases The larger the distance, the less gravitational force each object exerts on the other. This means that the closer one object is to another, the more gravity acts on that object.
