TermDefinition
amoeba Moves and eats using a pseudopod.
euglena Unique because it is both a heterotroph and autotroph.
paramecia Moves using cilia.
autotroph Makes its own food.
heterotroph Must find its food.
pseudopod "False Foot" that amoeba use to move and eat.
cilia Small hairlike projections that paramecium use to move.
flagella A whip-like "tail" that euglena use to move.
organelle A part of a cell.
cell membrane Holds the cell together - lets some things go in and out.
water expelling versicle Eliminates excess water from the organism.
oral groove Takes food in.
food vacuole Stores nutrients to be digested for energy.
single celled organism A cell that can survive on its own, does not need other cells to carry out functions.
