platelets any of the cell pieces in the blood that form clots and seal up cuts
heart organ that drives the blood through the body's blood vessels
arteries any of the large blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart
arterioles any of the smaller blood vessels that branch from arteries
capillaries any of the tiny blood vessels in which the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and wastes between the body cells and blood takes place
venules any of the blood vessels that carry blood from capillary networks to veins
veins any of the large blood vessels that carry blood back to the heart
atrium either of the upper chambers of the heart
ventricle either of the lower chambers of the heart
pericardium tough, slippery membrane that encloses the heart
pulmonary circulation blood flow from the heart to the lungs and back
systemic circulation flow of blood between the heart and the rest of the body
coronary circulation blood flow to the heart tissues
soul and spirit parts of a human that scientists cannot explain using scientific laws
