Friction the force that opposes the motion of one surface as it moves across another surface
Focus the center of an earthquake beneath Earth's surface
Epicenter the center of an earthquake on Earth's surface
Compression a type of stress that squeezes rock
Base - Isolated Building a building to minimize the amount of shaking of the building caused by earthquakes
Aftershock an earthquake that occurs after a large earthquake
Tsunami a giant wave usually caused by an earthquake beneath the ocean floor
