| Seasons | caused by Earth's tilt and Earth's revolution |
| Water Cycle | the process in which water continuously moves from Earth's surface into the atmosphere and back again |
| Evaporation | the process by which liquid changes into a gas by adding heat |
| Condensation | the process by which gas changes into a liquid by losing heat |
| Precipitation | water that falls from the clouds to the Earth's surface in the form of rain, snow, sleet or hail |
| Runoff | water that does not soak into the ground and instead flows across the Earth's surface |
| Climate | the average or typical weather condition of a region year after year |
| Weather | the condition of the air outdoors such as temperature, cloud cover, wind speed, and rainfall |
| Weathering | the breaking down of rock on Earth's surface into smaller pieces |
| Erosion | the process of moving sediment from one place to another |
| Deposition | deposits sediment in a new location |
| Refraction | the bending of light waves as they move from one medium into another |
| Reflection | the bouncing of light waves from a surface |
| Atmosphere | the mixture of gases that surrounds the Earth |
| Axis | imaginary line about which an object rotates |
| Composition | the combination of substances that make up a whole object |
| Orbit | the path that one object takes around another object |
| Revolution | to go around; one orbit of an object |
| Rotation | to spin on its axis |
| Sedimentary Rock | a type of layered rock that forms slowly as sediment is compacted and cemented |
