Inherited Traits A characteristic that is passed from parents to offspring like hair color, eye color, and skin tone.
Learned Behaviors A characteristic that an organism learns by observing other organisms like reading, playing sports, and dancing.
Instinct A behavior an animal does without being taught (migration, hibernation, building a nest, and spinning a web)
Mimicry To pretend to be or look like another organism for protection
Migration The seasonal movement of animals from one place to another
Adaptation A characteristic that helps an organism survive in its environment
Hibernation An animal's body processes slowing down for survival in extreme conditions
Offspring New organisms that come from a parent organism
Heredity The passing of physical characteristics from parents to offspring
Structural Adaptations Physical features of an organism like fur
